Everything we believe is based on the Word of God. We believe there is one Eternal God who is the creator heaven and Earth according to Genesis 1:1. He exists as three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and was sent to earth by God the Father, conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary, according to Matthew 1:23. We believe Jesus Christ lived a sinless life and died a sacrificial death on a cross to redeem mankind. He was resurrected on the third day and after His resurrection He ascended to heaven where He intercedes for His people and awaits His Father's call to bring to heaven all those who believe in Him, according to 1 Corinthians 15:3. Faith in Him is the only way to heaven, according to Acts 4:12. We believe the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in all those who believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and guides and directs believers, revealing what the Lord would have us know. We do believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which are listed and described within the 12th chapter of 1 Corinthians. We believe the Holy Spirit empowers believers and equips them with what is needed to reach this lost and dying world.

We believe the Word of God is "God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work" 2 Timothy 3:16-17. According to the Word of God, Romans 3:23-34, sin has separated man from God, but because of the love and mercy of Jesus Christ, we can be forgiven and covered by His blood, washing us white as snow, forgiving our sins, and bringing us back into communion with the Lord. We are made new by His blood and the only way to the Father is through Jesus Christ, according to 2 Corinthians 5:17.

As the church, we are not defined by a specific building, but instead by the one who saved us, Jesus Christ, and our belief in Him, according to 1 Corinthians 12:13. We are to be committed to His purposes and callings. Here at River of Life, we strive to weekly provide a spirit filled place for all races, ages and persons to join in worshipping our King, Jesus Christ.
We believe that, just as the Word of God has promised in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, Jesus Christ will return to rapture all those who have put their faith in Him. Revelation 20:11-15 promises the final judgement and those names that are not found in the Book of Life will be forever thrown into the fiery lake within hell, eternally separated from God. However, according Revelation chapters 21 and 22, those who have believed upon the Lord will live eternally with Him. |
